Neville McCarthy has been working with iconic male fragrance BRUT on a campaign to promote and restore the ‘real man’ ethos of the brand.
Activities to generate awareness for BRUT have included a presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award to Sir Henry Cooper, a former ‘face’ of BRUT, at Repton Boys Club EC1 in 2009. Sir Henry was interviewed on stage by BBC1 Sports journalist Chris Hollins followed by a photocall and pre-arranged interviews with a number of sports and lifestyle press. Coverage of the event was placed with broadcast and national print media, including BBC 1 Breakfast News, Setanta Sports 1 News, Daily Mirror, Independent on Sunday and The Times Magazine.
In 2010 Neville McCarthy initiated a partnership between BRUT and the charity Help for Heroes. The BRUT Race for Recovery event was created, which enabled participants to raise money for H4H by attempting the Military Personal Fitness Assessment during a one day fundraising event. BBC Sports Correspondent Chris Hollins and England rugby stars Danny Care and Ugo Monye supported the event and were present for a photo-call and interviews. Coverage was placed with key press including Sky Sports 1, Nuts and Sport magazine, raising awareness for the charity and for BRUT. BRUT continue to raise awareness and money for H4H going forward and will be replicating the BRUT Race for Recovery in 2011.
